Scott Near LMPA - Master Wedding Photographer

Scott has recently been awarded a Licentiateship in Wedding Photography by the Master Photographers Association, making him one of only 80 Master Wedding Photographers in the whole of the UK. For you as a client, this guarantees you the very best in both quality and service for the most important day of your life.

Don't just book a photographer, book a Master Photographer...

Wedding photography designed around you...

As you read through this page, you'll discover that wedding photography need not be the invasive, time consuming necessity that you might think, quite the opposite in fact. Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life but our philosophy is that it should also be one of the most enjoyable.

When you book Camerashy Photography, not only will you have a Master Photographer to create beautiful images of your wedding day, you will also have your own Client Relations Manager, Carrie Duncan, to guide you through the whole process both before and after your wedding. Carrie will manage your booking, arrange your pre-wedding shoot and answer any questions you might have every step of the way.

Producing great images from a celebration doesn't just happen by having the right equipment and a creative eye. Connecting with you, our clients, as well as your guests, is the only way to ensure those photos will make you smile many years from now.

So, please read on and if you like what you see, you may have found your wedding photographer...

Let's work together...

Working together to ensure that your wedding photographs are as perfect as your wedding, is essential. Most weddings will follow a similar timeline but it's the details in between that really matter. Let's work together...

The first thing to do is to arrange a consultation. To ensure the process is as straightforward as possible, Scott can either come and chat in the comfort of your own home or, if you prefer, via video link. This presents the opportunity to discuss your day in detail, see some of Scott's work in print and should you wish to, begin your booking process.

Preparation is a vital part of what we do. There are a lot of people involved in ensuring your day runs smoothly so Scott will be speaking with them beforehand or on the actual day. The wedding coordinator, venue manager, chauffeur and Minister/Celebrant all have their duties so it's essential for him to chat with them to ensure we work together to give you the best experience possible. During the ceremony Scott will be completely unobtrusive and will always respect any rules your Minister/Celebrant has relating to photography.

Although you probably have a very good vision of what you would like from your wedding photography, the idea of working with a professional photographer can at first seem a little daunting. This is why we include a complimentary pre-wedding shoot when you book with us.

Working together prior to your wedding day will allow Scott to get to know you both more and also help you to feel more relaxed in front of the camera. On your wedding day you will have a much clearer view of what to expect, so your photos will be much more natural and take up less of your time.

Carrie (our Client Relations Manager) will be in touch with you to arrange your pre-wedding shoot at the appropriate time so you don't need to worry about a thing.

Your story...

Wedding photography is so much more than simply portraits and group photographs on the day. Part of your story involves the meticulous planning of every tiny detail. The details on the day begin long before you arrive at the venue, which is why the bridal preparation produces such memorable images.

From the relative chaos of the girls getting ready, to the beautiful bride that emerges, the preparation is a hugely important part of the day and one which you'll look back upon with great fondness.

The Ceremony...

During your wedding ceremony I aim to capture the emotion, the joy and every step to 'I do' without it being too obvious that I'm there. Wherever I can I will photograph from different vantage points to give you the best images possible, taking full advantage of the available light and the features of the venue while capturing the ambience and spirit of your marriage.

Your People...

Following the ceremony, I will arrange your group & family photographs. Prior to the day we will have discussed the style of photographs you'd love so I will already know what we are working towards.

Working with a pre-planned list, I will organise your people so that you can relax and have some fun while we create some great group photographs of your family, friends & bridal party.

I will have already visited your venue and will have a photo plan so your group shots can be finished very efficiently without taking too much time from your day.

Just the two of you...

Once the group shots are done, we can spend a little time around your venue capturing some beautiful photographs of you together, along with each of you individually, should you wish.

You may want to approach your portraits in a formal manner or alternatively in a very relaxed format. Maybe even a combination of the two.

Whatever style you prefer, I only need around 30 mins of your day to create those stunning images of the two of you.

Your story continues...

The rest of your day is full of opportunities for some wonderful candid photography, often catching things you would otherwise miss. There are of course more 'formalities' such as the speeches, cake cutting and first dance, but between lies a world of interaction among your guests.

It is these interactions between people who haven't seen each other in years, friends who love spending time together and kids hiding under the tables which make for some fabulous images.

And then it's time for your first dance. That fairytale moment when Prince Charming leads his Cinderella into the ballroom where they float effortlessly like Fred Astair & Ginger Rogers. Or maybe you'll simply 'rock out' to Metallica...

Whatever your preference, I'll be there to capture that moment too...
